Ever had a bad haircut? A poorly pruned tree is much worse than that. At Arboreal Specialists Inc. we realize that an improperly pruned tree may take decades to recover from the resulting damage; if it ever recovers at all.

Often times, a tree won't show the negative effects of improper pruning for many years. Usually the damage that's done is irreparable, causes unnecessary decay, and structurally weakens the tree.

That's why our entire staff is educated in the latest techniques and standards in the field of arboriculture. It's our goal to maintain your trees' health, beauty, and structural integrity so that they will remain strong for generations to come.

We will NEVER use climbing spikes when pruning your trees. These spikes cause ugly wounds and will damage the cambium layer of the tree, opening the doorway for fungal decay and insect infestation. It's more work for us, but your trees deserve it.

Structural defects - we can locate them and remove them. The longer a structural defect remains in a tree, the worse the problem will become. This greatly increases the tree's chance of failure.

Do you have newly planted trees? Removing any of their structural defects early is usually a lot cheaper for you and easier on the tree. It will also insure that your trees have the best chance to remain healthy and strong at maturity.

Our lead arborist, Mark Tietz, is certified by the International Society of Arboriculture. In addition, he has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture from Texas A&M, is a Certified Plant Professional, and is a 2008 graduate of the Municipal Forestry Institute.
